Bio : A picture is worth 1000 words…

picture worth 1000 wordsWelcome!  I am so glad you have come to join me.  I imagine we are new acquaintances sitting here at my dining room table.  My first question would be, “Would you like a coffee, tea, Pepsi, or water?”.  If you happen to be one of those who prefer Coke, I happen to (beyond my comprehension) live with three of such people (my husband and daughters) so I may have one on hand to offer you.

Pictured here is my favorite tea mug, oh it feels so good in my hands all warmed up with something yummy.  I am surrounded here by a few of my favorite things…I am a thrift store kinda girl.  I love it when previously owned things capture my attention and find their place in my home for a season or a lengthy stay.  I am an organizer girl.  Oh, don’t get me wrong, I have work to do but the quest for an orderly home is a road I seldom venture from.

I am a home educator and homemaker.  I am grateful for finding myself living out those roles.  I am educated in Communications and Human Resources and have been putting those degrees to use in our homeschool classes, the Bible studies I have led, and groups I have been involved in for the last eighteen years since my eldest was born.  I am a money manager…oh, do I love to talk finance and being thrifty!

If my picture could speak, it would tell you that it portrays things that make me happy…paper flowers made by my daughters, a piece of my wedding Heirloom Pfaltzgraff, dinner candles we light often, a corner cupboard filled with memorabilia of our life, a black faux leather table cover that is uniquely me, and an antique spice rack that I picked up a favorite thrift store and so on.  My desire for my home is for it to be a place where my family and I can flourish.

I am a fan of Facebook and Pinterest but would much rather be holding a conversation face to face or sitting in my craft room creating something with my daughters or a friend.  I am delighted to share the days ahead with you.  I am on the journey of a life well lived.  It is my hope that writing will spur me on to live out that kind of life and by sharing with you, spark an interest in you, speak a word of encouragement to you, or just be a fellow sojourner in search of a wonderful life.
